研究 at Brandeis

2022 Provost 研究 Grant application

Provost 研究 Grants are announced in December and provide funding to initiate innovative scholarly inquiry and creative activities with the potential for significant, 持续的影响. Any Brandeis faculty member or Heller senior researcher involved in research, scholarship or creative activity in any field may apply for an award.

Purpose and Evaluation Criteria

Proposals should be for early stage activities rather than for projects that are well underway. We encourage collaborative proposals that involve two or more faculty, multiple departments or schools, and proposals with convincing plans to develop and sustain a long-term activity. Priority will be given to projects likely to lead to subsequent applications for fellowships, grants or other funds external to the university.

All proposals should include a description of the proposed activity and its significance, resources needed to complete the work, 时间表, and plans for sustaining the activity. See the attached application forms for word limits and other details.

资金

The maximum award will be $35,000, and the committee will make evaluations based on both the merit of the proposal and the appropriateness of the budget.

资金 will be provided for up to 12 months, starting July 1, 2022.

Salaries, if requested, must include fringe benefits. 请参阅 Office of 研究 政府 Pre-award site 有关详细信息,.

At the end of the grant period, unused funds will be returned to the Provost's office. Please do not count on a no-cost extension.
